The wait is over for fans of Taşacak Bu Deniz. The popular TRT 1 drama has officially returned to production, with filming for Season 2 now underway in Trabzon.
According to Turkish media reports, cameras began rolling on September 11, 2026, bringing the cast and production team back together following the dramatic conclusion of the first season in June.
The release of the first Season 2 set photo has already increased excitement among viewers. The image features Ulaş Tuna Astepe, Deniz Baysal and Ava Yaman, who return as Adil, Esme and Eleni, respectively.
Their return is particularly significant because the three characters remain closely connected to the emotional and family conflicts at the heart of the series.
Taşacak Bu Deniz Season 2 Filming Begins in Trabzon
The second season is once again being filmed in Trabzon, a location that has become an important visual element of the Turkish drama.
The Black Sea region provides the series with its distinctive atmosphere, while its landscapes and coastal setting complement the show’s emotional family storyline.
OGM Pictures is backing the production, with the team returning to Trabzon to begin work on the new episodes.
The start of filming follows weeks of anticipation surrounding the new season. Fans had been waiting for confirmation that production would resume, particularly after the first season ended with several major storylines still unresolved.
Now that filming has officially begun, more details about the plot and returning characters are expected to emerge as the premiere approaches.
Ulaş Tuna Astepe Returns as Adil
One of the biggest reasons for excitement surrounding Season 2 is the return of Ulaş Tuna Astepe as Adil.
Adil remains one of the central figures in the drama, particularly because of his complicated history with Esme and Eleni.
The first season established a powerful emotional connection between the characters, while years of separation created secrets, resentment and unresolved feelings.
Season 2 will now explore what happens after those characters find themselves back in each other’s lives.
For viewers who became invested in Adil’s journey during the first 31 episodes, his return promises another emotionally intense chapter.
Deniz Baysal Reprises Her Role as Esme
Deniz Baysal is also returning as Esme, keeping the central cast intact for the new season.
Esme’s relationship with Adil and her connection to Eleni form an important part of the drama’s continuing storyline.
The first season revealed how the characters’ past shaped their present, and their reunion after two decades created a new set of challenges.
Rather than simply resolving old relationships, the reunion has opened the door to more difficult questions.
Season 2 is expected to examine how Esme deals with the consequences of the past while confronting the people and secrets that have returned to her life.
Ava Yaman Returns as Eleni
Ava Yaman will once again portray Eleni, another key character in the central storyline.
Eleni’s return is especially important following the major developments of the first season.
The reunion between Adil, Esme and Eleni after 20 years changed the direction of the story and brought long-hidden issues back into the spotlight.
Their shared history is now likely to become even more important as the second season moves forward.
The first set photo featuring all three actors has already generated interest because it confirms that their complicated story will remain at the center of the upcoming episodes.
Burak Yörük Continues as Oruç
The returning cast also includes Burak Yörük, who continues his role as Oruç.
His presence adds another important dimension to the ensemble as the story moves into its second chapter.
With the principal cast returning, viewers can expect the new season to continue developing the relationships and conflicts established during Season 1.
Season 1 Ended After 31 Episodes
The first season of Taşacak Bu Deniz concluded with its 31st episode on June 5, 2026.
The finale left several emotional storylines open, creating a natural foundation for Season 2.
Among the most significant developments was the reunion of Adil, Esme and Eleni after 20 years apart.
Their return to one another’s lives did not simply close a chapter. Instead, it reopened old wounds and brought secrets from the past back into the present.
That unresolved tension is expected to become one of the main driving forces of the second season.
What Can Fans Expect From Season 2?
While full story details remain under wraps, the new season is expected to build on the dramatic developments established in the first chapter.
The story is moving beyond the initial reunion of its central characters. Adil, Esme and Eleni must now face the consequences of their history and the secrets that have followed them for decades.
This gives Season 2 an opportunity to explore deeper themes, including:
- Family secrets
- Complicated relationships
- Long-buried emotions
- The consequences of past decisions
- Loyalty and betrayal
- Reconciliation and confrontation
- The impact of years of separation
Rather than starting from scratch, the new season will continue the existing storyline and take the characters into a more complicated stage of their lives.
Why Trabzon Remains Important to the Series
The decision to continue filming in Trabzon is also significant for the show’s identity.
The region has become closely associated with Taşacak Bu Deniz, giving the drama a strong sense of place.
The Black Sea setting contributes to the visual character of the series while creating a natural backdrop for its family-centered narrative.
Returning to the same region also maintains continuity between the first and second seasons.
As production continues, fans will likely see more behind-the-scenes photographs and filming updates from Trabzon.
When Will Taşacak Bu Deniz Season 2 Premiere?
Fans will not have to wait much longer for the next chapter.
Taşacak Bu Deniz Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 8 p.m. on TRT 1.
The new season will continue the episode numbering from the first season, meaning the premiere will be Episode 32.
This allows the story to move directly forward from the events of the Season 1 finale rather than beginning a separate storyline.
With filming already underway, anticipation is expected to grow as TRT 1 releases additional promotional material ahead of the premiere.
Episode 32 Marks a New Chapter
The upcoming Episode 32 will be the first opportunity for viewers to discover how the story develops after the dramatic Season 1 conclusion.
The return of Adil, Esme and Eleni suggests that their complicated history will remain one of the central pillars of the series.
At the same time, the wider cast gives the drama room to expand its family conflicts and introduce new developments.
For fans who followed the first 31 episodes, the Season 2 premiere represents more than the return of a television show. It marks the continuation of a storyline that deliberately left several important questions unanswered.
